2014-2016 Chapter Secretary; STC Fellow
Lori Meyer, an STC Fellow, begins her 33rd year of STC membership in 2017. During her years as a member, she has served many STC communities in a variety of roles, including chapter president, chapter and SIG secretary, chapter webmaster, chapter employment manager, and conference co-chair. She is currently serving as membership manager for the Rochester and San Diego Chapters, director-at-large for the Carolina chapter, president of the East Bay Chapter, secretary of the Instructional Design and Learning SIG, sponsorship coordinator for the Northeast Ohio chapter, and social media volunteer for the the Consulting and Independent Contracting SIG. She is a former co-manager of the Technical Editing SIG, where she created a SIG awards program that is now in its second year. In 2015, Lori received a Distinguished Chapter Service Award from the Washington, DC – Baltimore (WDCB) Chapter and the Carolina chapter; and she was honored as an STC Fellow.
Lori is a technical communicator and curriculum developer in Northern California, where she develops and edits software documentation and training. Lori feels great excitement about the potential of social media and mobile technology to build on our work as technical communicators. She is looking forward to continued service to the Washington, DC – Baltimore (WDCB) Chapter, working with its leaders and members, and sharing her enthusiasm for virtual volunteering.
