Lori Meyer, an STC Fellow, has been a member of STC for more than 36 years. During her years as a member, she has served many STC communities in a variety of roles, including chapter president, SIG co-manager, chapter and SIG secretary, chapter webmaster, chapter employment manager, and conference co-chair. She is currently serving as president of the Rochester Chapter, membership manager of the Instructional Design & Learning SIG Community of Practice, secretary of the Florida Chapter, and director-at-large for the Philadelphia Metro and Washington DC-Baltimore Chapters. She is a former co-manager of the Technical Editing SIG, where she created a SIG awards program that is now in its second year. In 2015, Lori received a Distinguished Chapter Service Award from the Washington, DC – Baltimore (WDCB) Chapter and the Carolina chapter and was honored as an STC Fellow. In addition, Lori serves as an ad-hoc member of the STC Community Affairs Committee (CAC).
Lori is a technical communicator in Northern California, where she develops and edits software documentation and training for cybersecurity products. Lori feels great excitement about the potential of social media and mobile technology to build on our work as technical communicators. She is looking forward to continued service to STC and STC communities.
