Andy Lakritz is a Senior Technical Writing manager in Washington, DC, where he has worked for 10 years documenting software application interfaces, database objects, and infrastructure. He has worked in technical communications for Claritas Inc., Onesoft Corporation, High Branch Software, and, most recently, Ruesch International, a financial services corporation.
Andy joined STC in 2001 and has been a volunteer with the chapter from the beginning. Andy has judged in the STC WDCB Online competition and managed the Online Communication competition for 3 years. In addition, he has judged the in the STC International Online Communication competition as an alternate.
Andy has a Ph.D. and B.A. in English from the University of California, Irvine, as well as an M.F.A. in creative writing, also from Irvine. He has taught English in Pennsylvania (Franklin & Marshall College), Ohio (Miami University), Brazil (Federal University of Brasília), and Kazakhstan where he spent a month inaugurating an English language library and teaching American culture at the Kazakh State University of International Relations and World Languages.
